As businesses begin to open their offices once more, managing employee health and workplace safety are top of mind. With over 20,000 global employees, our client, a diversified industrial technology conglomerate, wanted to make sure that getting back to work was done safely and efficiently. With agile solutions based on the company’s unique business needs, Cask was able to help the company launch a global safe workplace protocol for employees, contractors, and visitors in just 15 days.

In today’s complex environment, maintaining employee safety requires a digital strategy to develop best practices built on platform and data governance. Our client had no process for automating, tracking, and auditing persons entering the company’s buildings, which made it hard to manage schedules and employee health.

ServiceNow’s Safe Workplace Applications made it easy to implement these new protocols, automating employee readiness surveys and employee health screenings across our client’s global network. 

“[We began] by building a custom survey for the [employee’s] weekly schedule,” Cask’s Mandi Paolini said. “For the people that are coming into work, these surveys are tracking their schedule for the week, as well as a few specific questions related to their job functions. And then, a daily health screening will go out on the days that the employee will be in the office, which determines the next steps.”

Based on employee self-reporting, individuals will then be directed to perform either an at home temperature check or an in-person screening at their office; the results of which are both recorded in the app, so that HR and Management are able to view the results if needed.

Because it is a global company, these screenings needed to be built in 12 different languages, covering offices in different locations and times zones. Through partnering with Cask, our client was able to add SMS text and Twilio functionality to these at-home surveys, so that employees could access and complete the requirements from anywhere on their mobile device.

A pilot project identified 100 users across two locations, guiding them during the implementation to get those employees up and running before rolling out the protocols across the entire business.
